Good Morning everyone! Happy Friday!! Another week has concluded and now all of you are most likely gearing up for a good (hopefully long for some) weekend, I know I am. In conjunction with the ending of the week, our word of the day today is "Freedom". Now this one everyone has a clear definition of, the idea of relaxing in the sun or binge-watching your favorite show on Netflix all while not having to worry about your job for the next couple of days. I'm pretty sure that's what everyone is thinking right? Well in my opinion you're half right. Looking at the term "Freedom" from a career perspective, I think that we don't achieve our freedom until we have accomplished all of the things that we set up for ourselves over the years and can say that you are truly happy with the position that you're in after all that's said and done. I see freedom as the end goal to everything in life, after we've worked X amount of years and went through hell and back with what seemed to be endless obstacles. That's my perception of freedom.
Today's quote comes from former and late President of Southern Africa, Nelson Mandela. He said that:
"There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of the death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires"
To me this goes back to the idea of having goals and running into obstacles along the path before you finally reach the end of your journey. Nothing in life is easy especially if it's something that requires a lot of time, patience and hard work. It's just up to you to bring yourself to the task and get it done as efficiently as possible.
